To create a new site simply utilize this manual as a template, as follows:
- Copy the entire site directory to the new site location and rename the top level directory to correspond to the new site.
- Go to the content/manualPages directory and delete everything except
introduction.htm and printForm.htm.
- Open
introduction.htm in an html editor and replace its contents (but not its <head>) with the desired contents.
- Do this for as many pages as needed. It is generally a good idea to have separate folders for one or a few related pages plus all support files (such as images or code examples). If any pages are created at a different level in the root, be sure to adjust the relative references in the head appropriately.
- Rename the
manualPages folder as appropriate.
- For the files in the
content directory
- edit the
constants.js file for your own site
- edit the
nav-map.js file for your own site
- edit (or delete) the
dictionary.htm file for your own site.
- replace or delete the logo files
- replace or delete the
coverPage.htm file
- Open the style directory and edit the three parallel style files as required (
lectureScreen.css for projected lectures, notesScreen.css for onscreen notes and notesPrint.css for printed notes).
- Edit
navBar.css and slider.css to change the colours/ layout of the navbar and the slider colour.
